Registration is now open for our Forensic Science Educator Workshop on Tuesday, July 28th, 2026.
This full-day forensic science workshop is designed for high school teachers who want to bring more realistic, engaging, and hands-on crime scene investigation experiences into their classrooms. Participants will create and analyze bloodstain patterns, design and process mock crime scene scenarios, and explore foundational shooting reconstruction concepts through practical activities that can be adapted for high school forensic science, biology, chemistry, criminal justice, or career/technical education courses.
Throughout the workshop, teachers will focus on evidence recognition, documentation, scene processing, and the interpretation of physical evidence within mock crime scene scenarios. Participants will leave with classroom-ready lesson ideas, reusable artifacts, and practical materials they can take back and use directly with their own students.

Did you know that the AIMS program hosts 7,000 students for hands-on medical and science programming every year? Middle and high school students from around the region visit Young Hall to participate in auditorium presentations, cadaver demonstrations, and dissections and labs. Additionally, AIMS educators also perform 200 interactive Distance Learning lessons a year. Phew! We’re busy!
In fact, spring is the busiest time of year for AIMS, and the last 2 weeks have been no exception. With 2 auditorium presentations, showcasing an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair and a Medicolegal Forensic Autopsy, 18 cadaver demonstrations, 2 pig heart dissections, 1 sheep brain dissection, and a blood splatter analysis lab, 1,200 local students have experienced an adventure in medicine and science in the last 14 days!
Visit the AIMS website to learn more about our programming or register your high schooler for our summer workshop. Also, be sure to check back in during the late summer/early fall to schedule your school’s AIMS adventure for the 2026-2027 school year.
