Well Geez. Being a first time Head of School is a busy life!

The year has gone well (I have the best staff EVER) and I have enjoyed having a bit more time now that I am done with Primary Training.

I have been working to apply to more Montessori speaking events, which I absolutely love to do!

I have been focusing a lot on my artwork as a jewelry maker and having a blast reorganizing my house (yes, I love to organize...it's staying organized that is the hard thing. It's ok. It just means I get to organize again. 😁

As I work on trying to balance the 7,000 things I like to do at once, please know you are welcome to reach out if I can do anything to help.

I am still planning on recording my recorded Elementary Classroom Systems presentation, and will be sure to post once it is actually done and up on the website.

For now, keeping being freaking awesome, and let me know if you need anything 💛

Hi everyone!

I have had A LOT going on in the last year! I just graduated my AMI primary diploma course here in St. Louis and am also taking over as Head of School at my beautiful little Montessori school, Metro East Montessori School.

All that to say that I am getting ready to start putting MEC back onto a front burner. I have a lot planned and am looking forward to growing MEC and making actual connections with people!

Practicing fraction equivalence with punch embroidery! It's a great way to link math, geometry, art, and handwork! Throw history in there by talking about the history of embroidery!

Happy Monday everyone!

Weekly Student/Teacher Conferences - Montessori Elementary Collective 03/13/2023

Oh Hi!

YOU GUYS. It's been an insanely long time since I have been able to sit down and really work on MEC work, and it is something I have been missing so much. But I am here with a new blog post and fun big plans!

In the Montessori Elementary classroom, we teachers have a few tools in our back pockets to help ensure we are running an authentic Montessori classroom. My favorite, and the topic of this blog post, is the weekly student/teacher conference meeting! Check out what it is about and why it is so incredibly important to the work!

Wait? Montessori was a person??? - Montessori Elementary Collective 09/02/2022

When people hear “Montessori,” many of them think it is some kind of religion (I mean it DOES sound like monastery, which has to do with a religion.) But in actuality, the method is named after its creator, Dr. Maria Montessori. She was the first female medical doctor in Italy and created the method in 1907. Read more to learn how what a boss she was.
