LET’S TALK ABOUT PROP B & CHILD CARE IN ST. LOUIS
For the past several years, I have been working alongside early childhood educators, families, and community members to bring more attention to something that affects all of us: access to quality, affordable child care.
Child care is not just a family issue.
It is a workforce issue.
It is an economic issue.
It is an education issue.
And most importantly, it is a children’s issue.
When families cannot find or afford child care, parents may struggle to go to work or stay employed. When early childhood programs cannot afford to pay and retain qualified educators, classrooms may close and fewer spaces are available for children. And when children do not have access to consistent, high-quality early learning experiences, the impact can follow them into kindergarten and beyond.
That is why I want City of St. Louis voters to learn about Prop B before the November 3 election.
Ask questions. Read about what the proposal would fund, how the funding would be administered, who would qualify for assistance, and what it could mean for children, families, early childhood educators, and child care programs throughout the City of St. Louis.
I have spent many years advocating for early childhood education because I have seen firsthand what happens when we invest in children and what happens when families and providers don't have the resources they need.
Please don't skip the bottom of your ballot. Learn about Prop B and make an informed decision on November 3.
Our babies matter.
Our families matter.
Our early childhood educators matter.
Our community matters. ❤️
