Congrats to our Gateway Singers!
SLPS Stars Shine at Metro 8. Huge congratulations to our talented choir students from McKinley Classical Leadership Academy and Central Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) for their selection to the Metro 8 All District Choir. After successful auditions, these students delivered a fantastic performance last month: Soren Carroll (McKinley, Bass), Libby Hagemann (McKinley, Alto), Zora Mensah (CVPA, Alto), and Madison Moore (CVPA, Soprano). Special thanks to directors Anna Brummell and Amber Kaufmann, who also performed on percussion. Extra cheers for Soren Carroll for earning a spot in the All State Choir. Soren will perform at the MMEA Conference on January 31.
We are also thrilled to recognize our middle school vocalists from Gateway Middle School and McKinley Classical Leadership Junior Academy who performed with the Metro 8 Middle School All District Choir on November 15. Congratulations to Chance Hawkins, Sanaa Hamilton, Brielle Jarrett, Lauren Thomas, and Michaele Williams from Gateway, along with Frankie Delaney, Alaura Taylor, Jocelyn Edson, Clara Garcia, and Gus Henken from McKinley. Additionally, bravo to McKinley student Nico Wetli, who earned 1st chair percussion with the Metro 8 Middle School Concert Band and performed at Chaminade on November 23.
