Entrepreneur Spotlight: Vanessa – MosquitoNo

Meet Vanessa, the creative mind behind MosquitoNo, a natural solution inspired by real life here in Florida.

Vanessa loves spending her afternoons outdoors bike rides, walks, and skating with her family. But like many of us, she quickly realized that enjoying nature also meant dealing with no-see-ums and mosquitoes.

Instead of settling, Vanessa turned to what she loves most... art, creativity, and problem-solving. While working in her home garden this spring, she began researching natural ways to repel insects using herbs and ingredients proven by nature.

With care and curiosity, she created her very own organic repellent, right from her backyard. And true to her thoughtful nature, Vanessa made sure it worked first testing it on herself and her family before ever offering it to others.

Today, she’s proud to share MosquitoNo with our community!

Rachel was inspired to start crocheting by her grandmother, Gladys, and her mother, Jackie—turning their shared stories and encouragement into something truly special.

After learning through videos and hands-on practice, Rachel quickly discovered both a passion and talent for crocheting. Since then, she has created beautiful pieces, taken custom orders, and built her very own small business!

We are so proud to see her creativity and dedication shine. Thank you, Rachel, for sharing your talent with our community—we can’t wait to see all you bring to the Children’s Business Fair!

Young Entrepreneur Spotlight – Simon & Esther

Simon discovered 3D printing last year and quickly turned his curiosity into creativity. After receiving a 3D printer for his 11th birthday, he began designing and creating fun and useful items.

His sister Esther joined him along the way, and together they even participated in the Kid’s Entrepreneurial Market in Green Cove Springs during Christmas!

Now, while Simon continues creating with his 3D printer, Esther is adding her own personal touch by offering refreshing lemonade. 🍋

We love seeing their creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial spirit come to life!

Young Entrepreneur Spotlight for our upcoming Children’s Business Fair for this Saturday: Simple Things

We are so proud to highlight one of our amazing young entrepreneurs, Sarayu! 💛

Sarayu has always loved creating with her hands—painting, decorating, and turning simple ideas into something beautiful. One day, she came across a lovely scented candle that made her feel calm and happy… and that’s when inspiration sparked. 🕯️

She began making her own candles using all organic ingredients—natural wax, gentle scents, and dried flowers. Each candle is carefully crafted and filled with love and creativity.

What started as something she enjoyed quickly turned into her very own business idea! 🌟

Sarayu’s goal is to create candles that are safe, natural, and bring happiness and calm to others. Watching her turn her creativity into something meaningful has been truly inspiring.

🌿 Sharing the magic happening in our studio.
People often ask us how we know when a child is truly learning.
We believe learning isn’t measured by tests or grades — it’s reflected in the habits and mindset that take root early and last a lifetime.
Here, one of our little heroes is working with a self-correcting material — the Montessori Spindle Box — and taking full ownership of his learning journey. He naturally notices when something doesn’t add up, and with determination, he corrects himself.
No adult correction needed — just curiosity, problem-solving, persistence, and growing confidence.
Because at ROA, it’s never about getting it right the first time. It’s about building the focus, discipline, and independence that shape lifelong learners — children who understand that mistakes are where real learning happens. 🌱

During the first few weeks of the school year, Studio Contracts are created by the learners themselves—not handed down as a set of rules. This gives them true ownership and buy-in. Together, they decide what kind of community they want to build and how they’ll hold each other accountable. It’s less about following rules and more about choosing to live by shared promises that make their studio a place of respect, joy, and growth.
A powerful way for them to take responsibility for their choices, shape their community, and practice the freedom that comes with ownership and accountability.
Just another day at ROA.
