Way to Go, Sage Breaux!

Congratulations to Sage Breaux, a 2nd grade student, for being the first student at St. Louis Academy to complete and pass an Accelerated Reader quiz! What an exciting accomplishment!

Through Accelerated Reader, students will read books at their individual levels and take quizzes designed to monitor their independent reading practice and comprehension.

We are excited to see our students grow as confident, successful readers!

A special thank you to Mrs. Jenifer for leading our Accelerated Reader initiative at SLA and helping build a love of reading among our students!

3rd graders participated in a gallery walk during a Wit & Wisdom lesson. Ms. Parker, 3rd grade teacher, displayed Mary Cassatt’s The Boating Party, Katsushika Hokusai’s Under the Wave off Kanagawa, Winslow Homer’s The Gulf Stream, “The Sea Wind” and Amos & Boris. At each station, groups recorded how the artwork or poem adds to their understanding of the sea.

Today, students had an opportunity to spend their earned STAR bucks. Students earned STAR bucks by being a STAR student.

Our PBIS motto is to be a STAR: Stay Safe, Take Ownership, Act Responsibly, and Respect Everyone.
