As our Testing Coordinator and Literacy Coach, Mrs. Whetstone plays an essential role in supporting our teachers, strengthening literacy instruction, coordinating assessments, and helping our students achieve excellence. Her knowledge, leadership, dedication, and commitment to student success make a lasting impact throughout our school. Congratulations, Mrs. Whetstone, on this well-deserved honor!

School-Related Employee of the Year – Ms. Dorothy Kraus
As our Executive Secretary, Ms. Kraus is an invaluable part of the heart of MAES. Her dedication, organization, professionalism, and constant support help keep our school running smoothly each and every day. A huge THANK YOU to Books-A-Million and everyone who participated in their summer book donation program!

Over the summer, shoppers were invited to purchase books to donate to the MAE school library. The original goal was $7,500 worth of books, but thanks to the incredible generosity of BAM customers, that goal was not only met, it was exceeded! Together, they donated an amazing $11,700 worth of books for our students.

These new titles will soon be added to our library collection and made available for checkout, giving students even more opportunities to discover the joy of reading.

Teachers, don't forget that Books-A-Million offers educators 20% off purchases, making it a great resource for both classroom and personal reading needs.

Become a Bookmark Buddy & Make a Difference!

We are looking for caring community members to become Bookmark Buddies mentors and help our third-grade students strengthen their reading skills and build confidence!

Just 30 minutes a week, one-on-one, can make a lasting impact in the life of a child. No prior tutoring experience is necessary—training and all materials are provided!

📖 As a Bookmark Buddy, you’ll help a student:
✨ Practice and improve reading skills
✨ Build confidence as a reader
✨ Develop a love for learning
✨ Get that extra little push toward success!
