Huge CONGRATULATIONS to the KMS 7th grade Concert Band on earning a Division 2 Excellent Rating, and the KMS 8th grade Wind Ensemble on earning a Division 1 Superior Rating at MSBOA District XVI Band/Orchestra Festival at Warren Woods Tower HS tonight!

The 8th grade band will be headed to MSBOA State Festival in April!

Huge congratulations to the Kennedy Middle School Bands at MSBOA State Band/Orchestra Festival today at Detroit School of the Arts!

The KMS 7th Grade Concert Band Red, under the direction of Mr. Malabed, earned a Division 1 Superior Rating overall!

The KMS 8th Grade Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Mr. Alter, earned a Division 2 Excellent Rating overall!

Mr. Alter and Mr. Malabed are very proud of the progress made by our young musicians, bravo to all!

Huge CONGRATULATIONS to the Kennedy Middle School Jazz Ensemble on receiving Straight First Division Superior Ratings at MSBOA State Jazz Festival at Wyandotte Roosevelt High School today!

The Jazz Ensemble received all A and A-‘s on their Judge Sheets! Mr. Alter is very proud!

Next stop, our Shorian Spectacular Concert on May 21st!

Yesterday, 6 of our students were selected to participate in the MSBOA District XVI Middle School/Junior High Honors Band, hosted at Lake Shore High School! They were split into a 7th grade band, conducted by Ms. Kristin Blanchard, and an 8th/9th grade band, conducted by Dr. Ken Thompson. Our students were:

7th:

Sarah Neimann - Trombone

8th:
Kalix Loumanis - Clarinet
Maxson Pojeta - French Horn
Montez Patterson - Euphonium

The 8th grade Wind Ensemble and the 7th grade Concert Band Red earned a 1st Division Superior rating overall! The 7th grade Concert Band White earned a 2nd Division Excellent Rating!

The 8th grade Wind Ensemble and the 7th grade Concert Band Red are eligible for MSBOA State Band and Orchestra Festival in May!
