Central Stingrays PTO

Wishing all our Central families a wonderful summer break.

PTO are going to take a break from posting on the page this summer but promise to be back on Monday, August 3rd!!!!!

We are going to be working hard and making plans for the next school year. We have some fun new things planned for 26/27.

Central Elementary is getting new AC installed over the summer so the building is completely closed to ALL STAFF from May 26th until August 3rd.

In the belief that PTO isn't just about fundraisers and planning events we would like to create a list of volunteers who would be willing to help staff since they will have limited time to prepare for the new school year.

We will create 2 lists -
*one of the volunteers who would be able to physically help in the classroom with set up of furniture, wall displays etc - whatever the teachers need help with.
*the other of the volunteers who don't have availability during the day but would be willing to help at home, in the evening, cutting out laminating, assembling agenda folders etc.

Once created I will share the lists with staff who will contact parents directly.

It has been a really good year and PTO has been able to use fundraising money to do some amazing things.

In addition to everything on the list we also have almost $50,000 set aside from Boosterthon 2025 and Boosterthon 2026 for playground improvements. We hope to have some news on how these plans are progressing in the near future.

This isn't really a PTO post more of a PSA.

If you have a fifth grader moving on to middle school here are a few suggestions I have as a mom who has already been through it.

1. find the page of the school now, that way you can see their communication over the summer ready for the new school year.

2. find the page of the PTO for the same reasons.

3. sign up to receive the enews from the middle school, I am never sure if that is something that automatically happens but here is the link anyway

Did your student bring home a baggie of random supplies that you are unlikely to use for next year?

If so PTO would love to take them off your hands!

We will collate what we get and donate them to the Central counselors to distribute to students in need at the start of the new school year.

Do you wish you had been an approved volunteer this year so that you could attend field trips, field day, help with PTO events?

Use the summer break to become an approved FHSD volunteer.

A special thanks to Jessica, Michelle, Abbie and Mr Jeremy, who stayed on long after their scheduled time slot. You were all amazing

We saw lots of happy kids with big smiles and soggy feet!

Hopefully they've all come home from school with stories about their fun day and are so tired that they'll go to bed early

PTO will have a limited number of 5th grade graduation yard signs available for purchase just before the clap out on Friday, May 22nd.
