🖥️ It’s National IT Professionals Day! 💻

They keep our networks running and our technology secure; they troubleshoot devices and remind us to "turn it off and back on again." Our IT team definitely keeps SCSD connected and moving forward.

Thank you to our incredible IT professionals for all you do to keep our schools, staff and students covered.

🧪 Things are getting elemental in SOAR! ⚛️

SOAR students at Harris Elementary School are kicking off their Chemistry unit by learning about the elements and getting familiar with the Periodic Table.

Lucas (Blackhurst Elementary ) and Eleanor (Lincoln Elementary School) are already getting hands-on as they build the foundation for the chemistry concepts ahead. 🔬

🏦📬🛒 There’s a lot of learning happening in Our Town!

At the St. Charles School District Early Childhood Center, students learn through play in a tiny replica of St. Charles, where they can pretend to be mail carriers, bankers, grocery store owners, restaurant workers and more.

As they play, they also practice sharing and turn-taking, build social skills, and develop gross and fine motor skills.

We believe the best learning happens when you’re having fun! ❤️

Servant Leadership in Action! 👏

Leadership isn’t found behind a desk, it’s found in the willingness to roll up your sleeves and serve alongside others.

SCW teacher Jeremy Jackson shared this pic he took of Superintendent Dr. Sefrit, Assistant Superintendent Mr. Shields and SCW Athletic Director Mr. Wiber out working on the softball field, getting it ready for the SCSD United Softball to play on Thursday. With our maintenance team shorthanded, these leaders stepped in and got the job done.

It speaks volumes when the people steering the ship are willing to jump in and do whatever it takes to support our students.

Leadership isn’t about being above the work. It’s about being willing to do the work. 🥎

🦷 A special two-day project is giving Lewis & Clark Career Center dental assisting students a meaningful way to learn about history through their career field. ❤️

In Mrs. Gallagher’s dental assisting class, students are learning about forensic odontology and the important role dental professionals played in identifying victims following the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Students first researched the field of forensic odontology and practiced positioning X-rays. They then received replica dental charts from the early 2000s "belonging" to actual people who lost their lives in the attacks, including Todd Beamer, who was identified through dental records. He was on United 93 and is famous for his last words, "Let's Roll."

Through hands-on learning, students are gaining a deeper understanding of both their future profession and the history of this solemn day.

📚✨ Listening, Learning and Loving Books

Students in Ms. Jenicek’s class at George M. Null Elementary practiced whole-body listening as they read "Tomás and the Library Lady."📖
