I reward kids when they can read 100 sight words and then I reward them again when they can read 200. This usually takes a little bit to get this done in first grade, but these 4 have already conquered it!! Congrats!!! All 4 of them can read 100 sight words and got to get prizes from other teachers showing their hard work. And Aiden can read 300 sight words!! This is amazing!!!

No reading homework tonight, I did not get computers set up like I thought I would, we will start tomorrow. Just sight words tonight.

Parents~

Sight words came home today! I always like to test the kids on their sight words before sending them home so I can see where everyone is and make sure they are working on the words they need. I wasn’t able to get this done last week, so I tested everyone today.
I was surprised by how many words some of the kids already know! Because I wasn’t expecting so many to know so many words, some of their sight words are handwritten since I haven’t had a chance to get all of the words cut out yet.
You may also notice that some kids do not have 10 words. That is because they only needed a few more words to reach 100 sight words.
We will test on Friday, so please practice the words that came home today. ❤️

1st day of school, I meant to post these earlier so parents could see that their little ones were doing great, but I did not get a chance. This was during reading stations and making bracelets for our classroom family.

This year open house is not the day before school starts. This allows for everyone to not be rushed the night before school starts and allows teachers time to get everything put up before we start the first day. The email they sent about registration had the wrong date for open house. (Time is 6:00-8:00)
