Mayland Community College has been ranked the #5 LPN-to-RN Program in North Carolina for 2027 by PracticalNursingorg!

We're incredibly proud of the faculty, students and graduates behind this recognition. But what we love most about this ranking is what it represents:

What if the thing holding you back… isn’t actually holding you back?

For a lot of people, the first question about starting something new is simple:

Can I afford it?

Before you decide Dental Assisting isn’t within reach, talk to us.

Funding may be available to help eligible students cover the cost of class. And with classes meeting Monday + Wednesday evenings from 4:30–8:30 PM, the program is designed to make career training more workable for busy adults.

The next Dental Assisting class starts October 12.

Today was about our students—and that made it a pretty special day.

I had the chance to spend time with so many of them during Student Appreciation Day, and I left feeling incredibly grateful.

Our students are working toward different goals and taking different paths, but each one has trusted Mayland with an important part of their future. That is something I never want us to take for granted.

So today, we celebrated them. We shared some laughs, enjoyed being together and made sure our students know just how much they are appreciated.

To our students: Mayland is better because you are here. Thank you for trusting us with your goals, your hopes and what comes next.

Sometimes a scholarship is more than financial support. It’s a connection between someone who believes in a student’s future and the student who is working to build it.

That’s what makes DREAM Day at Mayland so special.

DREAM Day brings together Mayland scholarship recipients and the donors whose generosity helps make their education possible. It gives students the opportunity to meet the people behind their scholarships—and donors the opportunity to meet the students behind their giving.

For our donors, it’s a chance to see the difference their generosity is making. For our students, it’s a chance to meet someone in their community who believes in what they can accomplish.

These are the connections that make Mayland more than a college. They make us a community.

To every donor who invests in a Mayland student: thank you for believing in what comes next.

Meet Hunter Dellinger, Mayland Community College’s new coordinator for Construction Trade programs in Workforce & Continuing Education.

“What excites me most about taking on this role is the opportunity to help connect people in our community with careers that are in high demand and can provide a great future,” Hunter said.

Hunter brings real-world experience, industry connections and current knowledge of the technologies, building codes and practices shaping the construction industry.

And for anyone considering a career in the trades, Hunter has a simple message:

“Now is a great time to get started.”

We’re excited to welcome Hunter to Mayland — and excited about what’s ahead as we continue creating pathways that connect people with skills, careers and opportunities in our region.
