Last week, Mrs. Mostella and Mr. Graham met with all our students to discuss policies, procedures, and the high expectations that we set for ourselves at SMS. We want to see our students succeed in all areas of their lives—including academics, athletics, fine arts, and other extracurricular activities. The beginning of school is a great time to converse with your child about goal setting for themselves, how to be an encourager to others, and avoiding the pitfalls that face our students today. Thank you for partnering with us to help your child achieve all they desire this school year!

PICTURE DAY is this Wednesday, August 26th! We will get started with pics during homeroom, so please ensure your child is on time and ready to smile!

Just as a reminder, the car line for all middle school students is in front of SMS in the Main St. parking lot. Please form two lines in the morning and afternoon to help keep our car line from backing up onto Hwy 11.

We have two volleyball games this week. We host Southside on Monday, August 24th, with games beginning at 4:00pm. Then, we travel to Moody for games on Tuesday, August 25th.

Our football team will play their first game of the season on Monday, August 24th, at Ashville. The game will start at 5:30pm.

Our cross country team will be competing in their first meet of the season this week! They will be at Scottsboro High School this Saturday, August 29th, in the Scottsboro Invitational!

Tickets to middle school athletic events are $7 for adults and $5 for students. You can pay with cash at the gate, or you can purchase tickets online by downloading the GoFan app on your phone and searching for Springville High School. Once you find our school, you will be able to choose the event in which you plan to attend. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the purchase. Then, bring your device to validate tickets for the game.

From glazed donuts and sausage gravy at breakfast to BBQ sandwiches, crispitos, General Tso chicken, nuggets and pizza for lunch...we have a delicious week ahead! 💜💛

Breakfast and lunch are served at no cost to all students. Daily alternate options are also available. We can’t wait to serve our Tigers! 🐾
