Construction dust didn’t stand a chance today! 🤣

With all the recent construction at SES, our music room and instruments needed a little extra TLC. Today, some of our awesome 3rd graders happily jumped in to help clean! 🧽✨ Now our instruments are ready for some action from our PreK- 4th grade students!

Music clubs are open for applications! At SES, our 4th grade students have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular music clubs: Choir, Ukulele and Orff Ensemble.

Below is a short descriptions for each club. If you are interested in applying, please visit the MUSIC ROOM on your SISD app.

All-City Choir
Tuesdays from 3:15 - 4:15 pm
This ensemble is for students who have a passion for SINGING! In All-City Choir, we will learn five pieces of music that students will perform in January. Our SES students will join forces with other 4th/5th grade choir members from Goshen, Reno, and Springtown Intermediate school. Students are expected to participate in the choir fundraiser

Ukulele Club:
Wednesday from 3:15 - 4:15 pm
This ensemble is for students who want to further their skills on the ukulele. Students will be expected to SING and STRUM a variety of songs. Students must purchase their own ukulele instrument (along with a strap and ukulele case) in order to participate in the club. Students must be willing to practice at home to stay on pace in the ukulele club

Orff Ensemble
Thursdays from 3:15 - 4:15 pm
This ensemble is for students who have a passion for playing xylophones, working hard and taking pride in representing our school. Space is LIMITED, so the music teacher will assess students during music class. Mrs. M will be looking for students who can maintain a steady beat, play a continuous rhythmic pattern and work hard with others. Students are expected to participate in the orff fundraiser

🌙 Twas the night before school and all through SES, our staff is prepared to welcome our greatest treasures yet. 💎

The hallways were decorated, the classrooms just right, the floors were all shining and the bulletin boards bright. 🏫

The students were bouncing, too excited to sleep, while parents were begging, “PLEASE, not another peep!” 😴

The alarms were all set for an hour way too soon, because summer vacation officially ends with the moon. 😭

But there’s one little thing we must mention tonight… Tomorrow’s car line will give you a fright. 🚗

Google Maps may turn red. Your patience may bend. You may wonder if this car line will EVER end?! 🛑

The community pages will surely have chatter: “WHAT’S HAPPENING AT SES?" "WHAT ON EARTH IS THE MATTER?!” 🤣

But fear not, Porcupines, because here’s what we know: It WILL be a mess… and then smoother it’ll go! 💪

Each day will get faster as routines fall in place, and soon we’ll be loading those cars at record pace. 🏆

So bring us your kiddos, your car tags, and grace, and maybe some coffee to sip while you wait. ☕

Our staff will be hustling with hardly a breeze, loading cars in a cool 120 degrees! 🥵

NOW FOR THE IMPORTANT STUFF 👇

🧡 7:10 AM — Building opens for students.
🚪 7:30 AM — Front doors open for parents who would like to walk their child inside.
🚗 Arrival & Dismissal: Please pack a little extra patience for these first few days! With nearly 800 students, new routines, new families, and the Texas heat, our staff will be working as safely AND quickly as possible.

We would like to thank the Tri County Flag Football League for inviting our Choir and Orff Ensemble students to perform the National Anthem at the first-ever Spring Super Bowl Games!

Our 4th graders walked the hallways one last time as elementary students at SES. We are so proud of them and wish them the best as they continue their education. 🎓✨ Have a GREAT summer!
