Good Morning!



Site work has continued on the Springport Rebuilding project on M-99 from South St to Gibbs Rd. Work began the end of March. Construction schedule has shifted due to utility delays, and some portions of the work will be moved into 2027. Lane closures will continue throughout the project. We will keep everyone as informed as possible with these updates.

🗑️ Trash Collection During M-99 Construction

Village of Springport Residents:

If you live in the area affected by the M-99 construction project, please continue to put your trash cans out on your regular collection day.

Due to the construction trenches, please place your trash can along the edge of the trench where it can be accessed by the garbage truck.

If the trench prevents the garbage collectors from reaching your can, Mead Brothers will assist by getting the trash cans across the trench when necessary so that your trash can still be collected.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while this project is underway. Thank you for helping make trash collection as smooth as possible during construction!

The Village received the following message from Consumers Energy so I am passing it along:

Hello and Happy Friday!

It appears that the planned outage to work on the secondary lines and replace a pole has been rescheduled. The planned date is 8/16/26 from 8am-2pm. If that date doesn’t work, they plan to do it on 8/23/26 from 8am-2pm. Customers impacted include those on Mechanic St, W & E Main St, Grand St, Pearl St, and Willow St.

There are technically four different jobs with this. Because of that, the outages will be intermittent. Not all customers will be off at the same time or for the full time. Each impacted customer should receive a mailer from us with details.

There is a chance this outage will be rescheduled again if there is a storm, a crewing issue or if there is another supply issue (since they need a variety of parts and multiple crews for these jobs and all four have to go together).
