Washington County Conservation District

Washington County Conservation District The Conservation District is a Non-Profit, County funded organization meant to protect all natural resources of Washington County.

The WCCD was funded in 1943 after the dust bowl of the 1930's to help farmers and landowners better manage their land to protect their natural resources. The District serves all citizens within Washington County both in the urban and rural areas and works to educate the young and old. Our organization also works with the Federal Natural Resource Conservation Service and the Farm Service Agency as well as other state and local agencies in carrying out our mission.

The Washington County Conservation District is giving away Wildlife Seed Mix. The mixture consists of Sunflowers, Millet, Soybean, and Sorghum and will cover 1/2 acre. There is a limit of 2 per person while supplies last. Office is located at 461 Lincoln Drive Springfield, KY. (859)336-7777 ext3.

The Washington County Conservation District will be giving away tree seedlings starting on Wednesday April 12, 2017. There is a limit of 12 per person while supplies last. Species available are Kentucky Coffee Tree, Dogwood, Pin Oak, River Birch, Red Shumard Oak, and Papaw Trees. Our office is located at 461 Lincoln Dr Springfield, Ky. 859-336-7777ext3.

The Conservation District is giving away Wildlife Food Plots. Mix includes Sunflower, Millet, Soybean, and Sorghum. Each bag will cover 1/2 acre and there is a limit of 2 bags a person. Feel free to stop by the office or contact us at 859-336-7777 ext3.

Free Tree Seedlings are available at the Washington County Conservation District. Species include: White Pine, White Oak, Pin Oak, Pecan, Kentucky Coffeetree, River Birch, and Persimmon.

The Washington County Conservation District has equipment available for landowners to rent. Equipment avaible includes an aerator, warm season drill, haywrapper, lime buggy, and two sprayers. For more information please contact our office.
