Lincoln Land Community College and the Prairie State Beekeepers will host the 2026 Illinois State Beekeepers Association Summer Meeting June 12–13 in A. Lincoln Commons on the LLCC campus in Springfield. The two-day event includes live apiary demonstrations, a mead and beer panel discussion and 17 educational sessions on beekeeping topics for all experience levels with CEU credits available. Youth breakout sessions for grades 3–6 and onsite childcare for children 13 and under will also be offered.

LLCC Automotive Technologies program recently received a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, thanks to a generous donation from S&K Buick GMC. This vehicle will support hands-on learning, giving automotive students the opportunity to train on industry-standard practices such as computer diagnostics, hybrid powertrains, and advanced electrical systems. Lincoln Land Community College President Charlotte Warren, Ph.D. was honored Wednesday with a State of Illinois Executive Proclamation from Governor JB Pritzker, recognizing her 20 years of leadership at LLCC and her unwavering advocacy for community colleges across Illinois. Dr. Warren is the longest-serving current community college president in the state. She was presented with the proclamation at the LLCC-Litchfield groundbreaking for the expansion of the truck driver training program.

Lincoln Land Community College joined Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity today to announce a $2.6 million state investment to expand LLCC’s Truck Driver Training Program in Litchfield. The funding will support the design and implementation of infrastructure improvements to create a new training site, increasing access to high-quality CDL training and addressing critical workforce needs. This expansion builds on LLCC’s long-standing commitment to workforce development and economic growth by preparing skilled drivers for in-demand careers that support Illinois’ supply chain and regional economy.

Congratulations to Dr. Diana Coffman, professor of biology, who was named the 2026 Pearson/Gordon Master Teacher, and to our 2026 Distinguished Service Award recipients; Scott Grundy, Jessie Blackburn, Cody Cox and Thom Whalen.
These awards and milestone service anniversaries were celebrated during LLCC's Employee Recognition and Appreciation Ceremony on May 13.
