Last week, Springfield Schools and FFA Program had a great time attending Discovery Day at Schwartz Farms! It was really interesting to learn about all the different jobs and people it takes to make a farming operation successful. They learned how many careers are involved in agriculture—from caring for animals and maintaining equipment to managing business operations and using technology to keep everything running smoothly.

One of the best parts was getting a behind-the-scenes look at how much teamwork, planning, and hard work goes into producing our food and running a successful farm. Our FFA member learned a lot and came away with a new appreciation for the agriculture industry and the opportunities it offers.

A big thank you to Schwartz Farms for hosting our local FFA Programs and sharing their knowledge. Next year, we will have to work on getting a picture of someone kissing a pig!

Missed yesterday and needed a nap before I could post today! (Peep the last photo 👀)
I am so proud of these 2 ladies and all they achieved during camp! From friendships to stepping WAY out of their comfort zones and trying new things!
Brooklynn was elected as Camp Reporter and D’Lyla received the “Happy Camper” award!

Starting our Day 2 right!
After breakfast, we paired with Martin County West FFA to raise the camp flag and start the day!
Then we had beautiful weather for our hike to Mount Tom. Here we took lots a pictures and enjoyed the views.

Timberland Camp has started!
We excited for lots of memories and learning about FFA!

When our members were asked to share how they prepared for camp in 3 words we got-
“Packing, DQ, & D’Lyla” and “Woke. Up.Tired!”
