This year I say "Farewell" to some students who I have taught for 4 years! While they will always be a part of my heart, I will miss the time we have had together. May this new year bring new hopes, new blessings, and new warmth to each of them.
Also, to the phenomenal women who stood beside these students this year, you are the real VIPs. When volunteers were low, students lost sanity during full moons, and we were told how old we look; you were a consistent heart beat to the rhythm of our program! I can not say, "WOW!" enough.
To the families who entrusted us to guide, steer, and pour out into your children, we are honored. I have watched the underdog take 1st place, the roots of learning grow, and glass ceilings become broken! Thank you for allowing us to partner with you!
Finally, to FUMC, you have made our hearts remember that grace, generosity, and love can exist under the umbrella of God! It is through your heart to serve Springfield and your willingness to help the students whom we we served that we were blessed to finish this year out! We will always remember the smiles and heartfelt conversations. Thank you Jenny, Bob, Sally, Eden, Natalie, Sarah, Molly, Kacey, Kevin, Dorthy, Ronaldo, and the entire church body!
