Since 1979, Lutheran High School (LuHi) has based its philosophy of education upon the Holy Scriptures of the Word of God and the Lutheran Confessions. Our goal has been to provide a safe family atmosphere so that students have the opportunity to find identity, meaning, purpose and power with the help of God. Our mission remains, "Empowered by God, Lutheran High School builds a Christ-centered fam
ily equipping students spiritually, intellectually, and physically for service to God and society." What began in a small building has progressed to more than 25 full-time and part-time faculty members, a 26-acre campus with 53,000 square feet of buildings and multiple athletic fields, and over 1,500 graduates. Through it all, LuHi has remained faithful to the spirit of its founders and the parents who generously gave their time, talent, treasure and prayer to building an exemplary school with a foundation of faith. LuHi continues to believe that each student needs to learn in an environment where teachers have a personal relationship with their students, they are uniquely valued for their differences and gifts, within a curriculum that is based on a Christian worldview. To compliment this strong Christian focus, LuHi remains committed to being excellent in the core academics, providing students with up-to-date academic opportunities and ensuring that teachers have the resources they need to offer the best education possible. Lutheran High School is the only Lutheran high school in the greater Springfield area, serving over 150 students from the Springfield, Jacksonville, Chatham, Riverton, Rochester, New Berlin, Pleasant Plains and Auburn areas. Lutheran High School is accredited by the National Lutheran Schools Accreditation. Learn more at www.spiluhi.org
