Learning through service, leading through action 💛🐻
Spring semester, students in ECE 501/601 Home, School, and Community partnered with organizations across the Ozarks to support local needs while gaining firsthand experience in community engagement. From food distribution and family support services to classroom partnerships, these service-learning experiences helped students explore the powerful connections between homes, schools, and communities.
We’re proud of the professionalism, compassion, and commitment these future educators demonstrated throughout the semester. Their impact extends far beyond the classroom!

Creating opportunities for future educators while strengthening rural communities across Missouri 🍎🐻
A recent Inside Higher Ed feature highlighted Missouri State’s Pathways for Paraprofessionals program, an innovative apprenticeship model that allows paraprofessionals to earn teaching credentials while continuing to work in their local school districts.
Led by College of Education faculty and leaders, the program is helping address critical teacher shortages, support working adults, and expand access to education in rural communities throughout the state.
We’re proud to see the College of Education recognized for developing creative solutions that make a lasting impact on Missouri students, schools, and families.
