The Literacy Center We are dedicated to increasing the level of functional literacy and
self-sufficiency among the people of Clark and surrounding counties.

Four primary programs: Adult Basic Literacy Education, English Speakers' of Other Languages, Teaching Children to Read, and Certified Volunteer Tutor Training.

Literacy changes lives! Sometimes a little time and encouragement from the right person can make all the difference.

The Literacy center connect carrying volunteers with children and adults in our community who are working to strengthen their literacy skills.

The Literacy Center works to help children and adults build the literacy skills they need to learn, work, and thrive. But we can’t do it without our community.

So whether you have money, time, or a passion for helping others, there’s a place for you here.

Our Adult Basic Literacy Education (ABLE) program helps adults build the reading and writing skills they need for everyday life.

Whether you're preparing for the GED, improving your reading skills, or working toward a personal goal, we're here to help.

Students work one-on-one with a tutor twice each week and have access to computer-based learning tools designed to build confidence and strengthen literacy skills.

Adults ages 18 and older may qualify. Youth ages 16–17 may also be eligible with an official school release and work permit.

Every step forward matters, and we're here to support you along the way. 💚
