🎓 Scholarship Opportunity for Future Skilled Trades Students!

The Devon Mikuleza Memorial Scholarship was created in memory of Devon Mikuleza and his passion for the skilled trades. Devon planned to attend Midwest Technical Institute to study HVAC/R, following in the footsteps of his father, John, and brother, Dalton. He enjoyed welding, working on small engines, fishing, camping, and helping his neighbors.

In his honor, this scholarship helps high school seniors who want to continue their education at a trade school and pursue a career in the skilled trades. The scholarship award is a minimum of $500, and since its creation, 9 students have received the scholarship! 💙

📝 How to apply:
• Write a 1–2 page essay explaining why you want to pursue a career in the skilled trades.
• Complete the application form and attach a Word document of your essay.

There is no deadline to apply. Winners are selected annually and presented with their award at the Annual Devon William Mikuleza Memorial Trivia Night in November.

As Devon’s brother Dalton, a graduate of MTI’s HVAC/R Technician Program, shared:

“MTI helped me better understand the job I was going into. The Devon Mikuleza Scholarship will help others get their foot in the door. This scholarship honors Devon by keeping his name alive and helping others do something he loved.”

🎒✏️ School Supply Drive Success! 📚💙

Our MTI Springfield, IL campus came together to help local students start the school year prepared! From July 20th through August 6th, students collected hundreds of school supplies to support Riverton CUSD #14 "Shop the Classroom" and Waverly Elementary’s "Stuff the Bus". 🚌📓

From 235 folders and 111 composition notebooks to crayons, markers, pencils, backpacks, scissors, glue sticks, and more, we’re so proud of the generosity our students showed throughout the drive! 👏

A little friendly competition made it even more fun! Congratulations to our HVAC/R Program for bringing in the most supplies and earning the title of our winning program!🔧🏆

For every item donated, students also received a raffle ticket for a chance to win an MTI gift basket, including a cap and gown for graduation! 🎓 Congratulations to our raffle winners, Anyia Green from Phlebotomy and Brady Mast from HVAC/R! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped us give back to our local community. We hope these supplies help students at Riverton and Waverly start the school year ready to learn! 💙📚
