At Wee Play, we use a play-based curriculum, individualized for each child. We learn so much through hands-on experiences and plenty of time to explore.

Active engagement is the key to a high quality, play-based preschool program!

A strict schedule can be problematic for young children. At Wee Play Preschool, we follow a daily routine rather than a strict minute by minute schedule. This allows us to meet the very real need for flexibility while maintaining the subtle structure of a day well spent.

Book experiences, especially read alouds, are an integral part of the Wee Play program.

Wee Ones learn sign language from the beginning. Not only does this help them communicate before they can ‘talk’, it continues to be a great literacy skill throughout preschool and beyond. It also teaches the Wee Ones to be sensitive to differences.
I’ve completed several classes in American Sign Language (ASL), and have found it to be a wonderful addition to our program.

Independence is a major focus at Wee Play Preschool. We practice skills every day that lead to independence. We practice pouring beans into cups with a pitcher as we prepare to pour our own drinks. We practice picking up after ourselves, so that, eventually, we can play with anything we choose and put it away correctly. We build our fine motor skills and strengthen our muscles, so that we can fasten our own clothing and write.
Children are so capable when given the opportunity and time to learn and to do for themselves.

Absolutely the way I feel about teaching my Wee Ones.

Social skills are the most important things that I teach at Wee Play Preschool. Being able to successfully navigate the world and manage social interactions and relationships begins very early. It's integrated into every part of our day, from the books we read, activities we do, ways we live together, and even some of our art.
Especially now, it's important for children to be taught social skills in a purposeful way.

Children learn best when their experiences are concrete, real, and relevant. No worksheets here! We can do anything with real life objects that might be tried with worksheets. When Wee Ones are playing, their brains are really engaged in that sensory input and processing it! So instead of sitting and circling the item that doesn't belong on a worksheet, we lay out real items and challenge ourselves to figure it out. In addition, we can look at the items in different ways and look beyond the simple answer.
