🐛🦋 Our Early Preschool class took care of some caterpillars last month. They fed them, looked after them while they were in their chrysalis and released them as butterflies. This was such a fun time for them as they learned all about spring 🌷, including bugs 🐜.

🎒 What exactly IS "Circle Time"? 🤔👇

Have you ever entered into a preschool or daycare to see a room full of kiddos sitting criss-cross applesauce on a giant rug and wondered what they were doing?

It looks like adorable chaos, but it’s actually one of the most powerful learning tools in early childhood education! 🕒✨

Here's whats happening:

👋 The Welcome: Children sing a morning song and greet eachother by name. Making every single friend feel seen, valued, and welcome.

📅 The Daily Routine: Together, they look at the calendar, count the days, and look out the window to chart the weather.

📚 Story & Song: Teachers read books, sing rhyming songs, and use fingerplays to build early literacy and language skills.

🧠 Theme Introduction: This is where the day's main lesson plan drops—whether it's learning about community helpers, insects, or sharing!

The Big Benefits:
It teaches children how to take turns and practice patience.
It builds active listening and social-emotional skills.
It creates a comforting, predictable routine to start the day.

While learning about all things Spring 🌷 Pond Life 🐢 our Early Preschool room had the chance to get messy and experience some Pond themed sensory play.

Our Pre K students went on a nature 🍁 walk to pick out items that they each thought would make good paintbrushes!

They made predictions 🤔 about whether the sticks, or pinecone, or flowers, or leaves, etc… would make good or bad paintbrushes. This was a great hands ✋ on activity that the kiddos really loved!

Yesterday our Early Preschool room had a great time stretching their creativity with a group project.

🎨🖌Engaging in art activities boosts creativity, hand-eye coordination, and cognitive growth while providing a constructive outlet for feelings.

🤝👥Group activities help toddlers build confidence, empathy, and early communication skills while learning to share, take turns, and resolve conflicts.
