Is Your Ohio Driver’s License Suspended?

You may qualify for a Brand-New Ohio BMV Amnesty Program… even if you still owe reinstatement fees.

Here’s how to find out if you qualify and get started:

✅ STEP 1: Check Your License StatusVisit the Ohio BMV website to review your reinstatement requirements:👉 https://bmvonline.dps.ohio.gov/auth/login

✅ STEP 2: See If You Qualify for AmnestyYou may qualify for:
✔ Reduced fees
✔ Payment plans
✔ Fee forgiveness

The program often helps drivers with:
No insurance suspensions
Certain non-violent traffic offenses
Older reinstatement fees

Serious felony or alcohol/drug-related suspensions may not qualify.

✅ STEP 3: Learn About the Amnesty Program
Some drivers may also qualify for the Ohio BMV’s Driver License Reinstatement Amnesty Program. This program is designed to help eligible drivers who have suspended licenses due to reinstatement fees, financial hardship, or certain non-violent violations get back into legal driving status.

Drivers may qualify if they:• Have eligible Ohio license suspensions• Need help understanding reinstatement requirements• Owe reinstatement fees they cannot pay all at once• Are trying to regain driving privileges for work, school, or family needs

To enroll, drivers can contact a local reinstatement center or participating community agency, complete an eligibility review, and follow the BMV’s reinstatement steps. In many cases, the Amnesty Program can help connect drivers with payment plans, fee reduction opportunities, and required next steps to restore driving privileges.

✅ STEP 4: Find Out If You Need an Adult Remedial CourseThe BMV will let you know if you must complete the Ohio 8-Hour Adult Remedial Driving Course.

Common reasons include:• 2-point credit• Court order• 12-point suspension• License reinstatement
