Celebrating the Life & Legacy of Lou DiRienzo ❤️🏈

We invite all of Lou DiRienzo’s family, friends, former players, coaches, alumni, and members of the Springfield College football family to join us on Friday, September 4 as we come together to celebrate Lou and the tremendous impact he had on our program and the lives of so many.

Lou dedicated seven years to Springfield College Football, making a lasting difference in the young men he coached, mentored, and supported. His passion for football, his commitment to our players, and, most importantly, the relationships he built will never be forgotten.

We will hold a special pregame ceremony beginning at 6:45 PM, immediately before our game against WNEC at 7:00 PM, to honor Lou’s life and legacy.

We would love to have everyone who knew and loved Lou back on campus to share memories, support his family, and celebrate the person he was and the impact he left on all of us.

From former players to new faces, meet the newest staff members of The Brotherhood!

Coach Paladino is no stranger to Alden Street. A four-year member of The Brotherhood, he now returns to Springfield Football to coach the cornerbacks and continue his connection to the Pride.

Coach Roadman returns to Alden Street after playing four years on the offensive line. Following his playing career, he spent a season at Worcester State before returning to Springfield, where he will continue working with the offensive line.

Coach Grille joins the Pride after four years as a student assistant at Indiana University, where he worked with the defensive line. He also spent a season as a Quality Control Coach at Monmouth and will now work with the fullbacks at Springfield.

Coach Sussman spent four years at SUNY Cortland as a student assistant, working closely with the quarterbacks. He now joins Springfield Football and will work with the Pride’s wide receivers.

A former student-athlete at Framingham State, Coach Kapfer brings both playing and coaching experience to the Pride. After his playing career, he spent a season as the Video Coordinator at the University of Rhode Island before joining Springfield Football as the Defensive Line Coach.

It is with profound sadness that the Springfield College Football family mourns the sudden passing of Coach Lou DiRienzo. Lou Was a GA during the 2016 and 2017 season and later came back to be the Defensive Coordinator from 2020-2024. We are heartbroken by the loss of a man who was so much more than a football coach, a devoted husband, loving father, mentor, leader, and friend who dedicated his life to serving others. His impact on our program and the countless lives he touched will never be forgotten. Please keep Allie, Giavanna, Audrina and the entire DiRienzo family in your thoughts. Rest in peace, Coach. Forever our Brother.
