First day of retirement! I'm going to miss all of the students but not the schedule. It's been a great job! Of course, I won't be able to sit still. I have gardening to do this summer, trips planned to see my kids and grandkids, taking Anna to work and camps, and volunteering at church. I hope to still continue to make music a big part of my life. Thanks for all of the beautiful flowers, gifts, candy, gift cards, and thoughtful cards. I will treasure them.

"Let's Have a Ball" was the theme for our end-of-the-year celebrations! Two recitals. Students were encouraged to wear their favorite sports jersey. Six seniors graduating. I handed out certificates and 10 gold cups from Federation. The Flynn family ensemble played "Don't Stop Believin'" and the Fabulous Miller foursome played "You'll Be Back" from the Broadway show "Hamilton." Wow! C**t Mason read his winning Music Week essay. Seth Cartwright performed his first place composition in the Junior Composers contest. Ethan Sartin--a guest senior who has already started college at MSU--played part of the Grieg Concerto. Bravo! It was such a fun evening! These students have been a joy to teach.

All of my students are famous! They were spotlighted in a national NFMC magazine called “Junior Keynotes”.
✨️Excited to have been included in the National Federation of Music Clubs Junior Keynotes spring magazine.
😀 It was a joy to be part of Leann's "Parade of American Music" studio recital last fall. Her students were an absolute delight, and I thoroughly enjoyed the bits of conversation I was able to have with them after their performances. Grateful for the recognition 💕

Today's pre-federation recitals showcased remarkable talent! I sat back in awe at my students’ performances. Way to go students!

Pre-Federation recitals will be held Saturday, February 28th at 2:00pm, 3:30 pm, and 6:00 pm. This helps the students get the jitters out before they perform for the judge the following weekend at Federation Festival. Light refreshments following each recital.

Another fabulous night at the symphony with 15 of my students! Wei-Yun Chang was amazing playing Rachmaninoff’s Concerto No. 3. It wasn’t cold where we were sitting. 😉
