Last, but not least, let’s learn about Zeta Tau Alpha’s philanthropy!
To the ZTAs, pink is more than just a color. Pink represents our national philanthropy, Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. Our two biggest philanthropy events are Queso for a Cure and Big Man on Campus. We are always thinking pink as a part of our mission to end breast cancer. 💞

Today, we get to learn about Pi Beta Phi’s philanthropy!
Read > Lead > Achieve® is Pi Beta Phi's philanthropic effort, which inspires a lifelong love of reading that can unlock true potential creating a more literate and productive society. We believe reading is a powerful step toward a life of enduring impact. We believe that when one out of four children cannot read, that is one too many. At Drury, we host Lemonade for Literacy, Puttin’ on the Lips, Wing Ching Ching, and Pie a Pi Phi to support our philanthropy! We also host a Fraternity Day of Service for our local school of choice participating in the Champions are Readers program. 💘

Next up, let us learn about Kappa Delta at Drury University philanthropy!
Kappa Delta strives to better the lives women, girls and children everywhere. Prevent Child Abuse America and Girl Scouts of America are KD’s two national philanthropies and Alpha Psi supports Isabel’s House, a local crisis nursery. Every year, KD raises money for these organizations through fundraising at events like Mac & Cheese with the KDs and dine-out nights as well as organizing events to get one-on-one time with local Girl Scouts.💚

Since we know what philanthropy means, let’s talk about WHAT our wonderful chapters are philanthropic about!
Drury Tri Delta's national philanthropy is St. Jude Children’s Research hospital. We do several events throughout the year to raise money for the kids. No patient at St. Jude ever receives a bill for their treatment, so that really fuels our passion knowing that we are helping save kids lives. This summer we celebrated our 20 year partnership with St. Jude. Over the past 20 years Tri Delta has raised 68 million dollars for this organization, making us the largest donor St. Jude has had. We are so thankful and proud to be able to take part in saving these precious children. No child should die in the dawn of life 💙💛

Say ‘hello’ to our next Rho Chi, Ciera DuBan!
Her favorite memory was: “Watching my little and her pledge class get initiated. The traditions of our rituals are beautiful and it is inspiring to know that every chapter around the country has done it the same way for years. I was so happy for her to get to experience what I had just done a few years ago. Also a bat came out of the rafters during their initiation so that was pretty sick, hopefully that’ll be the only time though. 🦇🦇”

I know it sounds cheesy, but staying up late in the suite working on homework or getting breakfast after a philanthropy event always turned out to be the moments I felt my most vulnerable and my most safe. I learned the most about my sisters in those moments and felt the most at home.”

We lost a member of not only our Panhellenic community, but Panhellenic Council.
Our sweet VP of Events, Caroline Conrad, has left us with nothing but the sweetest smile, the most contagious laugh, and the best memories. Our hearts are with her family, her friends, and her ZETA sisters. All the love to our community💓
If you need to speak to someone, feel free to reach out to our Student Activities Office or the counseling center at Drury.
The Drury University campus, athletics department, and the community were saddened to learn that Caroline Conrad, a student-athlete on DU’s women’s bowling team and a prominent campus leader, passed away in an auto accident Tuesday night. She was 19 years old.
Conrad, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, completed her sophomore year at Drury last spring. She was a key member of the Drury women’s bowling team during the previous two seasons and was a two-time national All-Academic selection by the National Tenpin Coaches Association. An accomplished student, Conrad was named a Warren White Scholar in 2018 after posting one of highest grade point averages as a first-year student at Drury.
More information about funeral and memorial services will be forthcoming as details become available.
