Upcoming regional information session (called Explore Hopkins) in Kansas City: The event will be held at The Barstow School on Saturday, April 21st at 1 p.m. This session will be pretty similar to what is offered on-campus but it is a great opportunity for students and parents to get to know us a bit without making the trip to Baltimore. We do ask that students and guests register ahead of time, and there are limited spots remaining.

SENIORS: CHS, SPS, and CFO scholarship applications are available now in the counseling center. Stop in to get the list and apply by the deadline of March 8th.

JUNIORS and SOPHOMORES: If you want to participate in a choice program next school year, earning credit outside of the Central building, remember to fill out the application for your program of interest by the deadline of February 28th. SOPHOMORES: You can apply now for the Sophomore Pilgrimage (one student, to represent our school for a day at the state capitol in Jefferson City, transportation provided). The deadline for Sophomore Pilgrim applications is Thursday, February 15. Message me if you would like to apply. You can also apply now for the Leadership Springfield Academy (applications available on February 26th, message me if you are interested). This is a great leadership program that meets periodically during the school day throughout next school year (your junior year).

OTC Career Center - OTC Career Center The OTC Career Center is an excellent way for eligible high school students to get a jumpstart on their college education and career exploration.

Attached please find information about Mercy Medical Explorers. Medical Explorers is a great opportunity for students interested in healthcare careers . The program allows students an opportunity to get real –life exposure to healthcare in multiple areas of Mercy Hospital-Springfield.

Students interested in joining will need to submit the attached applications. In addition, they will be required to pay the $35 annual registration fee online at:
https://www.onlineregistrationcenter.com/MercyMedicalExplorers and pick up the TB test form (form available at Mercy Talent Development [Main Hospital; 4th Floor]. The TB test is free at any Mercy Lab.
Students are required to bring all of the above information to mandatory Mercy Medical Explorers Orientation on February 6th @ 5:00 in the Hammons Heart Multi- Purpose Room.

FutureBuilders Foundation - MSBA

Attention all sophomores, juniors and seniors! Are you interested in learning which careers are best for you? The ASVAB test measures your developed abilities and identifies jobs that are suited for you! The test will be given on Tuesday, November 14th at 7:45 am in the Auditorium. There is no cost for the exam. Please sign up with Barbara Lopez in the Counseling Center. Limited seats….so hurry!

ACT Super Saturday is an opportunity for juniors and seniors to practice not only the ACT test, but the entire test day experience, from check-in to test sessions. The date is Saturday, October 21st. The cost is $5 and is due to Ms. Lopez in the counseling center by Friday, October 13th.

Free ACT Workshops at Greenwood Lab School. All meetings are at 5:30pm. Dates are as follows:
Orientation/English- October 4th
Math- October 11th
Reading- October 18th
Science Reasoning- October 25th

The PSAT will be given on Wednesday October 11th at 7:30am in the New Gym. The last day to sign up is October 6th with Mrs. Huett in the financial office. The cost of the exam is $16. There are some fee waivers available for students on free and reduced lunch.
