Happy Throw Back Thursday!
Today, we reflect back on our Unified Schools Art Gallery Walk. Unified Champion Schools is a program through the Special Olympics that strives to promote social inclusion through sports and clubs by pairing developmentally disabled students with non-disabled peers. During the 24-25 school year, we held our first UCS event--a bowling club and family bowling night.
In the fall, we are holding a Unified Art Club, in which students worked together to create 5 different art pieces that were displayed during our culminating eventโa Gallery Walk family night.
Thank you to our Unified Schools sponsor, Caitlyn Foutch. Mrs. Foutch continually fosters and provides opportunities for inclusion. Our Delaware community is grateful for her impact.
We look forward to you all attending or your student participating in one of our Unified Champion School events during the 26-27 school year!

Welcome to Delaware, Wednesday! ๐๐๐
Help us welcome Rachel Wirth, our new 4th-grade teacher!
Ms. Wirth is thrilled to be joining the Delaware team as a 4th-grade teacher! Mrs. Wirth has a high value on connection and community in her classroom, which she feels aligns with Delaware's values.
Mrs. Wirth is learning ASL with the goal of being fluent. She recently learned to crochet, loves to read, bake, and spend time outdoors with her dog Butter.

Welcome to our summer seriesโ๏ธ, Throw Back Thursday! Our first throw back is our STUCO Family Night!
Our Delaware families enjoyed community time, a movie , pizza meals, snacks, and a raffle!
Our student leaders called local business to get donations to raffle during the event. Our students raised $803 for Make-a-Wish!
We are grateful for Mrs. Kennedyโs support in developing student leaders and the generous support of the Delaware community! ๐

Lunch on the Lawn is May 22nd at 11:00 am. You are welcome to bring outside lunch to your child. Please let your childโs classroom teacher know if you are bringing lunch, so the student doesn't get a sack lunch from the lunchroom.
Below is the map of where students will be sitting. If you prefer to sit elsewhere, you will need to sign your student out. This ensures that teachers are not trying to collect students at the end of lunch. If your student will be staying at school, please stay seated with their class. If you plan to sign your student out, please let the teacher know so that the student can bring their belongings.
We are excited to celebrate a great school year with our Delaware community!

A BIG thank you to Foundation for Springfield Public Schools for funding our school wide field trip to Dickerson Park Zoo.
Each of our classes did a research project, based on a grade level standard, around animals you would find at the zoo. Today our students have set up a gallery walk to share their projects. I am so proud of our commitment to growth and learning.
