“The healthiest play is outdoors and includes occasional physical risk-taking and thrilling adventure.” — Jonathan Haidt
Wow! 🤩 Our learners had such a wonderful time playing in the snow this week.
While continuing our three-hour Montessori work cycle, they also enjoyed extra outdoor play and snowy adventures. 😎
I am so grateful to do this work, made possible by the support and partnership of our community.

Now Enrolling — Just a Few Spots Left for 2025–26!
Our Montessori Hybrid Program is now open for enrollment for the 2025–26 school year — and we have just a couple of spaces available.
At Montessori Child, we provide a thoughtful environment where children are encouraged to work independently, focus deeply, and follow their natural curiosity. But that's not all — our days are also full of movement, play, and exploration. Children in our program are free to get messy, splash in the rain, dig in the mud, build with sand, and enjoy the changing seasons outdoors. As a parent myself, I believe children thrive when they have plenty of time for free, unstructured play.

We’d love to show you around! :)

The best gift I could’ve ever given my child is the father I chose for him.
Happy Fathers Day to all the men that sacrifice, protect, and provide for their families.
We appreciate you ❤️

The “summer slide” refers to the learning loss that children can experience during the summer break from school. However, engaging in educational activities is not something that should happen only at school.
A recent article from The Washington Post highlights that research shows structured learning activities or summer programs aren’t necessary to help your child maintain their skills. Everyday life situations provide ample opportunities to keep up with reading and mathematical skills. Simple activities like doing groceries together, reading to and with your child every day, and cooking together can be incredibly effective.
It makes me reflect... Aren’t these the things we should be providing for our children anyway? 🤔 it sounds like to me that the school of life is the best one to enroll!
Now hear me out, I am not against work focused on specific skills, children need repetition, however, when it comes to academic skills, consistency is the key. A few minutes of focused work everyday is better than sporadic practice, which is what children are getting in school, if they are getting any.
Montessori Child is an education program that supports families in Springfield. We believe parents are at the forefront of their children’s education.

🌿 Calling all Montessori families! 🏠 Let’s get back to our roots and embrace the essence of the Montessori Children’s House! 🌱
At Montessori Child, we’re on a mission to create a nurturing environment where children can thrive and flourish just like they did in the original Children’s Houses envisioned by Maria Montessori herself.
🏡 The Children’s House is more than just a physical space; it’s a sanctuary where children can explore, discover, and learn at their own pace. It’s a place where freedom, independence, and respect reign supreme.
🌳 In the Children’s House, children engage in purposeful work, develop essential life skills, and cultivate a love for learning that lasts a lifetime. From practical life activities to sensorial exploration, each aspect of the environment is carefully designed to support the holistic development of the child.
🌻 By returning to the roots of Montessori and embracing the philosophy of the Children’s House, we’re not just providing an education; we’re nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit.
Join us on this journey back to the heart of Montessori! We have spots available for our Primary Hybrid Program!

Art in Montessori classrooms is not just about creating beautiful masterpieces; it’s about fostering creativity, self-expression, and exploration. Through various art activities, children develop fine motor skills, learn to appreciate different forms of expression, and gain confidence in their abilities. From painting and drawing to sculpting and collage, every art experience is an opportunity for growth and discovery. In Montessori, art is not only about the final product but also about the process—the journey of self-discovery and learning that occurs along the way. 🎨✨

💡 This insightful quote underscores the profound impact of early childhood experiences on a child’s future development and societal contributions. By providing children with a rich and diverse educational environment during their formative years, we lay the foundation for their intellectual, social, and moral growth. As Maria Montessori beautifully articulates, exposing children to various aspects of culture and fostering their moral compass from an early age equips them with the tools needed to navigate the complexities of society with wisdom and compassion. Let’s seize the opportunity to nurture young minds and cultivate a brighter future for generations to come! 🌍🌟
