Acre Brook Academy Springfield Ma This school was originally called Springfield Day Preparatory School for Boys and in 1970 renamed to Acre brook Academy. In 1973 the school became coed.

Permanently closed.

The school closed in the spring of 1975

A colorized version of the HOT sign. The sign advertised the House of Television from its roof in four different directions from 1965 to 1995. When you drove into The Acres, you couldn’t help but notice HOT. It announced, “Yo! You are in The Center, man!”

I would die for a night version of this sign lit up, but I haven’t come across one yet. THERE MUST BE ONE OUT THERE!!!

I took 3 years of Spanish from Mr Darsigny. He was always kind to me. He even offered to help me attend his alma matter Assumption College. I chose University of Chicago instead. He did as well as anyone could do to get Acre Brook Academy launched and as Headmaster did a fantastic job keeping us all… students and staff in line. A good man a leader and a mission critical figure at Acre Brook who will be missed.
