Our school year is off to a great start, with students engaging in learning opportunities, experiencing nature, and following their intrinsic motivation for self-mastery. All of these values have been built into our school for 49 years, brought to life by our founders, Sheila Brown and Nancy Schwab.

We are sad to share the news that founder and board director Nancy Schwab has passed away. She leaves us inspired to carry on the task of helping children keep and grow the curiosity and wonder of early childhood and develop into peace-making adults in a world with wounds.

Plant sale tomorrow at our north entrance! Here is a picture of our pocket prairie in bloom right now as an example of some of the native plants that our students grow and sell.

We will be holding a plant sale at our north entrance 2525 N. Limestone st from 9-3 pm tomorrow (Wednesday 7/15)! As always, our inventory includes dozens of native perennial plant species as well as edible plants like red raspberries.

Nightingale staff and students were glad to share plants last weekend at Juneteenth celebration at the Gammon House!

Thank you Beavercreek Wetland Association for hosting the Native Plants: Nurturing Nature and Our Community event. We were able to share Our Earth Native plants grown by Nightingale Montessori students to a community outside our normal range of Springfield. The network of professionals preserving and restoring western Ohio was inspiring. Maria was able to reconnect with former NM teacher and current President of the Board for B. W. Greenway, Bob Jurick. Jared was introduced to Lidsey McFadden, their Executive Director and a partnership was initiated where our students can restore wetlands in Clark County. Wild Birds Unlimited worked to connect the birding hobby with gardening using native plants. Emerald Alliance, a Dayton based band, shared positive music that enhanced what was already an amazing event! We are so grateful to contribute to this educational and joyful day.
