The Barefoot Piano Teacher

The Barefoot Piano Teacher I teach piano with emphasis on note-reading, playing expressively, with healthy technique, as well as ear-training, problem solving, and motor skills.

I have been teaching piano for 10+ years to students as young as 3 and as old as 70. I have worked with individuals with dyslexia and vision impairments and am open to other teaching individuals with other difficulties. I have a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy from Missouri State University. I am a very nurturing individual and work well with children

and anxious students. All musical skill levels are welcome, from absolute beginner to advanced students. My only requirement is that the student desires to take lessons.

Three cheers to the student who has been watching me get cranky at my dying highlighters all year. She brought these in as a Christmas present. 😂

Phillip George started taking piano lessons a few months ago. He's shown a lot of persistence and musical growth over a very short time. Here he is playing Mighty Avalanche by Randall Hartsell.
