* The building blocks of liberty as outlined in the Declaration of Independence.
* The history of education and religious liberty in the US, how we lost ground in the 1960's
* Learn about how the clergy shaped the worldview of the colonists and the miraculous ways that God intervened on the patriots' behalf during the Revolutionary War.

The Christian Homeschooling Association is excited to host the 2026 Homeschool graduation.
The ceremony will be held May 23 at 3pm at the Salvation Army located at 1600 East Clearlake Ave in Springfield, Illinois.
If you would like your student to participate in the graduation ceremony, please send your email address to [email protected] and we will get you signed up. You will then receive an email with all the details.
To help you get started on the graduation process, the follow is required of the graduates.
Senior graduates: You will need to provide your own cap and gown (can be any color) and diploma. Also, please send me the student's favorite Bible verse (to be printed in the program) and a little blurb about their interests, hobbies, future education plans, etc., that can be shared in their introduction. We would also like to show some photos (5-6) of your graduate during the opening and closing program.
8th grade graduates: We will provide a printed 8th grade graduation certificate. Please provide a favorite Bible verse (to be printed in the program) and a little blurb about their interests and hobbies that can be shared in their introduction. We would also like to show some photos (5-6) of your graduate as they are presented their diploma.

Good Evening Families,
Because Illinois weather has decided to throw us a curve ball, we will be implementing our Dist. 186 rule. If Springfield public schools cancel or have remote learning on Monday, we will then hold registration day on Thursday January 29.
Registration will still be held at the House of Prayer, 3253 S. 4th St., Springfield.
Registration begins at 10 am and we will be registering families in the following order:
Teachers: 10:00-10:30
Last semester attendees: 10:45-11:30
New to CHA: 11:30-12:00

CHA spring co-op registration is Monday!
Bundle up and come register for your classes!!
We have the classes set for the spring semester. Below are the classes and the descriptions.
Registration is January 26 at the House of Prayer, 3253 S. 4th St., Springfield.
Registration begins at 10 am and we will be registering families in the following order:
Teachers: 10:00-10:30
Last semester attendees: 10:45-11:30
New to CHA: 11:30-12:00
You must register in person and co-op and class fees are due at the time of registration.
The co-op fee is $20 per student and is capped at $60 for 3 or more students in a family. Some classes have an additional cost and those costs are listed in the class descriptions below.
Please take note: You may not get all the classes you want. No one is guaranteed to get in a class, except teachers' children (we are always open to anyone teaching) so please be understanding if you don't get all the classes you want. New enrollees, even if you only get a few of your desired classes this semester, you will be considered a returning attendee for the fall semester and move up in the registration order.

Class Descriptions:
Preschool
PreK Math Art- Emily Wilkins and Stacia Reed
Exploring math through art for three to six year olds. A collection of easy, creative art experiences integrated with early math concepts and activities that increase the young child’s awareness of math through art.
Class Fee: $10
5 W’s of God’s Creation- Jennifer Gresham
Preschoolers will learn the who, what, when, where, and why/How of God’s creation. They will study the creation of people, animals, the world, etc.
Class Fee: $8
PreK Free Play- Parent Supervised
This class will start with some dancing/ movement, followed by a coloring sheet, and finally some free play. Parents are expected to sign up for days to oversee and supervise this class.
K-2nd Grade
PE- Sarah Peterson
Art- Kerstin Kresin and Korean Haire
Using Usborne books students will learn about a variety of art mediums each week with fun, hands on projects.
Class Fee- $20
Lego- Esther Hall
Building Lego projects and challenges. This will provide a chance to practice public speaking by sharing what they built with their classmates.
Class Fee: $10
Life Cycles-Rachel Thomas
In this class students will learn the life cycles of plants and animals along with scripture and hands-on-learning.
Class Fee: $10
Fields and Flowers Nature Study- Morgan Richardson
Learn about different types of trees, the parts of flowers, process of growing flowers, and everything they need to grow. Students will enjoy hands-on activities to help bring lessons to life.
Class Fee- $5
2nd-5th Grade
Tea Time- Erin Roesch and Michelle Tracey
Etiquette lessons and/ or story time. Tea and snacks are part of this class.
3rd-5th Grade
Art Around the World- Abbey Pacheco-DeSilva
In this fun art class students will explore different countries through weekly hands-on-art projects. We will mix art, geography, history, and faith to see how God’s creativity shows up in every corner of the globe.
Class Fee: $15
PE- Amy Bachman
Book Club- Jill Koch
Students will decide on a book week one and will be responsible for bringing the book each week (can be a library book or one they own). Weekly discussion questions on what is read in class and at home. Movie at the end if the book they choose has one They will choose one of the following: Because of Winn Dixie, Where the Red Fern Grows, The Giver, or Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn

3rd-6th Grade
Lego- Esther Hall
Students will follow various challenges to build projects. They will grow their skills and expand their creativity . This class will also cover public speaking helping students to increase their confidence.
Class Fee: $5
Chess Club- Lisa Duffield
Age 10+
This class will be broken up into two groups.
A. Chess Beginners (Class Fee: $10) Beginner chess will learn the openings, basics, and simple strategies.
B. Chess Club (Class Fee: $5) Chess players will be challenged to learn new skills and learn clock play. Come and have fun!
5th-8th Grade
Anatomy- Trish Wetherell and Starla Sampson
This class offers an in depth study of the human body’s anatomy and physiology from a biblical worldview, using Apologia Education Ministries Exploring Creation with Advanced Biology: The Human Body. Students will explore each of the body’s organ systems through detailed readings, lab experiments, and critical thinking exercises.

6th-8th Grade
PE- Gretchen Harrison
Art- Jessica Garner
This class will cover a variety of art mediums every week. Some lessons will be more detailed and require multiple weeks to finish.
Class Fee- $25
Age 12+
Journaling Through Paul’s Letters- Jan Szoke and Leah Wise
Peter penned this letter to encourage the faithful during this dark time. His words still resonate powerfully today. This course covers context, cultural background, and how to apply God’s work to our lives. Workbook journal and supplies are included.
Class Fee: $5
High School
How Does THAT work?- Karen Scoggins
Every week students will be introduced to interesting activities and experiments. This is a hands-on class. You will LOVE the activities in this class!
Class Fee: $30
Art and Influence
This class blends creative expression with practical personal development. Students will learn basic watercolor techniques while listening and discussing Dale Carnegie’s How to Win Friends and Influence People. Through guided reflection and conversation teens will grow in communication skills, confidence, empathy, and positive influence.
Cooking Club
Students will learn new cooking skills every week. This will be informative, hands on, and a time of good food and fellowship. A few cooking skills we will learn this semester are sushi, international cuisine, milling grains, baking, gluten free meals, and allergy friendly cooking. This is a two hour class so the students have time to cook together but also sit and enjoy the food at the end of class.
