The Center for Social Justice at WNE Law is hiring a Post-Graduate Legal Fellow for a 12-month term starting August 2026. This is a great opportunity for graduating students and recent grads to gain hands-on experience providing free legal assistance to low-income individuals in consumer debt cases, advocate in court, and engage with the Springfield community through meaningful public interest work.

Looking back to February, the sold-out Racial Disparities in Health and the Law Panel brought together leaders in law, medicine, and public health to address inequities in care and explore lasting solutions. Keynote speaker Pareesa Charmchi Goodwin shared innovative policy strategies to advance health equity and systemic reform. We're proud to announce that our 3L students Conor McCormick and Christopher Nasta placed third nationally at the American Bar Association (ABA) Law Student Tax Challenge, held last month! This marks the third consecutive year that WNE Law has advanced to the final oral defense round. In 2023–2024, WNE captured the Best Brief Award, and in 2024–2025, the team achieved first place in the oral defense round! Their third-place finish continues a sustained record of success in the Tax Challenge under the leadership of Professor Fred Royal, who has coached the team for multiple years. 🎉
