🍿 POPCORN VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 🍿

We’re looking for volunteers to help with Popcorn Fridays throughout the school year — but we especially need a few extra hands THIS FRIDAY! 💙

Popcorn Fridays are always a fun treat for our students, and we need parent/family volunteers to help make them happen!

Tomorrow is the day to get a spot! The link opens Monday, the 24th, at 7:00 AM. Spots are limited, so make sure you sign up as soon as the link opens!

K–12 students enrolled in Springfield Public Schools are invited to Project Hope—a one-day event where they can pick up new shoes, socks, backpacks, and school supplies to get ready for the school year!

Only students enrolled in Springfield K–12 schools are eligible. Unfortunately, supplies and shoe sizes are not available for pre-K students.

• Ticket reservations begin Monday, August 24 at 7 a.m.
• Reserve tickets at: https://tinyurl.com/PH-SPFD-26
• Multiple appointment times are available, so you can choose what works best for your schedule.
• Every student must have a ticket and be present at the event to receive supplies.

• Giveaway will be held Saturday, August 29 from 1-5 p.m.
• Maple Elementary School, 2019 J Street
• Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time—not earlier.

SPS families: A ParentVUE app update is required after Aug. 2.

Download ParentVUE (New) with the solid purple logo. The current app with the multicolored logo will no longer work for SPS.

ParentVUE, StudentVUE and Online Registration and Review will be unavailable Aug. 2 during a system upgrade.

Completing the Annual Student Review gives you an opportunity to review and update your and your student's information including contact information, health information, custody information, emergency contacts and more.

If you’re new to our District or have an incoming kindergartener, this is a great time to get enrolled so you can start connecting with your new school!

Camping and reading are a perfect pair, and for her Summer Reading pick, Ridgeview Elementary's Mrs. Chesnut has a whole series for kids to check out.

"These books help you get revved up and excited to have camping adventures. It is a quick easy read with lots of humor and excitement with a little how to do the right thing mixed in there." ~Mrs. Chesnut

All summer long, we'll be sharing the our SPS school Library Managers' summer reading picks for kids and teens to enjoy. Maybe you'll find a new family favorite among them!

Summer break means Summer Reading at the Springfield Public Library! This year's theme is "Plant a Seed, Read!"
