Congrats to our own, Lori Lawley on her retirement! From EU actor and theatre major to acting coach, director, and professor- Professor Lawley has been such a pillar of this program for so long.

We had the privilege of honoring Professor Lawley once more at her retirement reception yesterday. Surrounded by family, friends, colleagues, current students, and alumni- it is undeniable the impact she has had, the legacy she leaves behind, and the love and gratitude that we all have for her. We will forever be “changed for good” because of knowing her. 💚🎶

On Saturday, we were honored to welcome special guests from Evangel’s original The Sound of Music cast (1985)! They joined us for the performance and spent time connecting with our current cast members—many of whom are playing the very same roles. What a meaningful full-circle moment!

We also had the joy of celebrating our own Lori Lawley as she prepares to retire at the end of this semester. Her impact on this program and its students is truly lasting.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made our opening weekend so special—we felt your support every step of the way. Only 3 shows left!

We’re hosting a special reunion reception after our show on April 11, and we would love to celebrate with you! Seats for the show are limited, but we’re doing our best to make room for as many original cast, crew, and musicians as possible.

If you’d like to attend but don’t have a ticket yet, send us a message—we’d be honored to have you join us!

We had a wonderful time at the Missouri Thespian Conference—meeting so many talented theatre students, participating in college auditions and interviews, and catching the national tour of The Outsiders in St. Louis!

Even a torrential downpour couldn’t dampen the fun. A huge thank you to our four theatre students who represented Evangel so beautifully, and to Ben Paris and the admissions team for making this experience possible. We loved sharing Evangel Theatre with so may students from across the state!
