As we celebrate 30 years of the physician assistant studies program at Springfield College, Connor Roberts '22 G'24 reflects on his time on both the men's lacrosse team and in the program. When he arrived on Alden Street, he could not have known that the lessons he learned on the lacrosse field would shape the way he cares for patients. Today, Roberts serves as an Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he is part of every stage of a patient's journey toward recovery.

When Cheryl Lee Scecina '02 arrived on Alden Street as a student-athlete, she could not have known that her time in the classroom and on the volleyball court would shape a career spent caring for student-athletes. Today, we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the athletic training program on Alden Street as Lee Scecina also gets to celebrate her 20th year at Westfield State University, where she serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Training and Head Athletic Trainer.

The Springfield College Department of Athletics and the School of Physical Education, Performance and Sports Leadership have announced the hiring of Brittany Iaiennaro '17 as a Supervising Athletic Trainer and Assistant Professor of Athletic Training.

"There's something incredibly special about returning to the place that has always felt like home," said Iaiennaro. "This is where I learned so much, found my passion, and was shaped into the person and professional I am today. To have the opportunity to come back, give back, and help shape the next generation is something I'm truly grateful for and excited about."
