Ash Grove Class of 1984

Our last stop on our year long celebration of our 40th Class Reunion was back to Ash Grove to a local favorite "Mama Loco's" restaurant for Food, Folks and Fun. We had 22 classmates and our beloved Coach Whitesell attend. We had so much fun going down memory lane with everyone, catching up on where they are and what they are doing now. Showing photos our our Kids, Grandkids and just laughing and having a great time together. For a moment we all were 18 again and having the times of our lives.

We want to thank all our Classmates that made it to one of our four events this past year. It was so good to see you all! We will be adding more photos to these as they come in. We look forward to the next time we all get together!

Until then, as Mama Fletcher would yell from the stands "Let's Go Ash Grove!"

Our 2nd stop on our Year of Celebrating the Class of 1984's, 40th Class Reunion took us back home for the 2024 Basketball Homecoming. At this stop we got to see three classmates that we did not see at the Football Homecoming:). Our 1984 Homecoming Queen Carey Johnson, Barry Davis, and Brad Green. Brad drove back from a job in Oklahoma just to come see us all.

Thank you to all the classmates that came to Homecoming and we look forward to seeing more of the class this summer on July 20th, at our big celebration of our 40th class reunion.

Ash Grove Class of 1984 - 2024 Basketball Homecoming.

It was Basketball Homecoming 1984, the theme was Happiness Is... and our very own Carey Johnson was crowned Homecoming Queen of 1984. Other 84 classmates candidates were Nancy Burchell, and Darla Grisham. Jimmy Bruffey was our Class of 84 basketball standout and one of the escorts to Darla Grisham. The game that night was a thrilling victory for the Pirates, who defeated Forsyth 58 - 57. A refreshment table was provided by the Beta Club and our classmate Pam Mayfield served punch (Not Spiked:).

The final activity of the evening was a dance sponsored by Student Council. The DJ was Randy Hanson and his 100 Watt Rockin' Machine. What a great night it was.
We are heading back to this very place this Friday for the Ash Grove Class of 2024 Homecoming. We are going to gather at the High School cafeteria for some chili & soup to support the Band Boosters and then sit together as the Ash Grove Class of 1984.



We hope to see our fellow classmates there to talk about our glory days and share stories of our 40 years since we walked these halls of Ash Grove High School.

Ash Grove Class of 1984 - 2023-24 Football Homecoming.

It was the 1983-84 Football Homecoming and the candidates were being introduced by Nancy Burchell. Sandy Davis was crowned our Homecoming Queen and our Sr. football players were the escorts for the candidates.

Fast-forward 40 years later to 2023-2024 school year. The Ash Grove Class of 1984 has returned to their Football Homecoming. This is the first of three planned events that the class has in the works to celebrate their 40th Class Reunion.

We had a great time tailgating and talking about old times and seeing some old friends. Really, we are getting old:). It was wonderful to see Coach Whitesell, one of our class sponsors, and Coach Floyd and many other family and friends. Special thank you to (Retired AG Coach) Pam Mayfield Swift for giving us a Grand Tour of the current Ash Grove High School. It was a great evening and the Football Pirates beat Miller 41-0. Go Pirates!

Our next stop is the 2024 Ash Grove Basketball Homecoming.....stay tuned!

We will be sharing past memories of our last year of High School Seniors as the year goes on along with new memories we are making at our 40 year events.

Here is a throwback to our Ash Grove Class of 1984. Our shirt signed by our class. Don't think I could squeeze into it but here it is like the day we got them!

We have planned to meet a number of times over the next several months so that we can see ALL of our fellow Ash Grove Class of 1984 Classmates! If you can't make one event we hope you can join us for another or for all events:)
