This comprehensive workshop helps parents understand what is happening in a young child’s brain during tantrums, emotional outbursts, and challenging behaviors. Rather than focusing only on behavior strategies, this session explains how early brain
development shapes behavior and why young children often struggle with emotional regulation in moments of overwhelm. Parents will gain a clear framework for understanding behavior and learn practical ways to respond that support both immediate regulation and long-term emotional development.

Parents will learn:
• how early brain development influences behavior
• why toddlers experience intense emotional reactions
• what the brain can and cannot do during a meltdown
• the role adults play in helping children regulate emotions
• how to respond during tantrums without escalating the situation
• strategies that help children calm down and recover
• how to guide children toward developing emotional regulation skills over time
