Tools 4 Teaching A nonprofit recycling and free resource center for SPS teachers When: Hours are decided on a month to month basis until SPS schools fully reopen.

Established in August of 2013, the SEA created an environmentally responsible way for recycling resources to help Springfield Public School teachers. On a monthly basis, retiring teachers, teachers who are taking new assignments, local businesses and organizations are given the opportunity to divert usable materials which are then repurposed into FREE classroom learning materials for current teachers. Dates will be posted here the first week of each month. An email will also be sent from the SEA office to all SPS teachers. Location: 70 Tapley St. in the Congressman Richard E. Neal Municipal Operations Center across the street from Oak Grove Cemetery at the traffic light. Please use glassed-in front entrance and follow signs for Tools 4 Teaching. Come in and check us out – did we mention that all our excellent resources are FREE!

Massachusetts Teachers Association's Post

Massachusetts Teachers Association

For 17 years, Tools 4 Teaching has helped Springfield educators stock their classrooms while giving gently used school supplies a second life.
Sponsored by the Springfield Education Association’ Committee of Retirees, Tools 4 Teaching provides Springfield Public Schools educators with donated classroom and office supplies at no cost. What began as an annual teacher swap in 2010 has grown into an ongoing effort that brings educators, retirees, schools and community partners together.
And the impact keeps growing: Through a partnership with East Longmeadow schools and the town’s Health Department, thousands of pounds of unused and gently used supplies have been collected and redirected to Springfield educators.
Have supplies to give? Tools 4 Teaching accepts donations of gently used educational and office supplies from individuals, school districts and businesses. Email [email protected] to inquire about donations.
Thank you to the SEA retirees and community partners who continue to support educators.

Despite a challenging opening(s), dozens of our awe-inspiring, dedicated Springfield PUBLIC School teachers took their time after a long week of uncertainties to show up at Tools 4 Teaching looking for basic supplies and enriching resources to serve and engage their students.
They were not disappointed and left with armloads of necessities and riches for their classrooms. Teachers were smiling and excited to be back in their classrooms with their cherished students. Kudos and good luck to all these committed educators! Our T4T team can’t wait to see you again on Thursday, October 15th!
