Shout-Out to One of Our Everyday Heroes! 👏

Today, during lunch, our custodian, Mr. Scott, noticed a student who was choking and immediately stepped in. He performed the Heimlich maneuver and successfully dislodged the obstruction, helping keep our student safe. His wife, Mrs. Underwood, was the one who first noticed something was wrong and quickly alerted her husband.

We are incredibly thankful for his quick thinking, calm response, and willingness to always go above and beyond. That’s just who Mr. Scott is….period. He doesn’t hesitate to jump in, always going above and beyond to care for our students and school.

We are so thankful for the wonderful staff at Fairview Elementary and today extra grateful to have this husband-and-wife duo a part of our Fairview family!

Thank you, Mr. Scott for being a hero today…and every day!

Today was the day, and we didn’t let a snow storm stop us! It started bright and early at Walmart on Dirksen with breakfast for our families. And yes… there were donuts 🍩👮🏾‍♂️

The excitment was contagious as students paired up with officers from the Springfield Police Department. What followed was more than a shopping spree….it was a day full of laughter, conversations, and moments that truly mattered.

Connections were made that went far beyond the aisles of Walmart. Seeing the smiles on our students’ faces as they spent time with their police officer…and hearing the joy that echoed through the store…reminded us just how powerful kindness, care, and community can be.

🚔🎅🏻Cops, Kids & Christmas – Part One 🎅🏾🚔

This week was full of smiles, surprises, and a whole lot of heart! 60 of our students were surprised to learn they were selected to participate in our Cops, Kids & Christmas program, a 10 year partnership Fairview has had with the Springfield Police Department and PBPA Unit #5!

The surprise got even better when officers stepped in to serve lunch to our students, sharing laughs and building connections. We’re also incredibly thankful to Chick-fil-A White Oaks for providing lunch and supporting such a meaningful day.

This was just the beginning….get ready for part two!

Morning Drop-Off Fun!

We brought a little extra joy to Fairview this morning! Two Christmas trees, one snowman, and one gingerbread man greeted students at drop-off in full inflatable holiday style.

We love creating moments of surprise, delight, and laughter for our families…because school should be a place where they feel excited to arrive, welcomed, and celebrated!

Here’s to a season filled with smiles, wonder, and festive fun!

This morning our families were blessed once again by our incredible community partner, First Christian Church, who hosted Gift Mart. Each year, they pour love, time, and generosity into making Christmas special for our students, and today was no exception!

Parents were able to “shop” for five gifts for each child …

All items were donated by First Christian Church, and every family was paired with a caring host who walked with them through the shopping experience. After selecting gifts, parents were taken to the wrapping room where volunteers wrapped each present so they’re ready to go under the tree on Christmas morning. 🎄

Today one of our sweet students surprised Miss Reese, our Crossing Guard, with a doughnut for World Kindness Day, and it absolutely made our morning! Small acts of kindness make a big difference. 💙💛🍩

Miss Reese is new to our Fairview family this year, and we are so thankful for the joy, safety, and care she brings to our school each day. Not only is she a wonderful Crossing Guard, she’s also a Fairview parent….and we’re grateful to have her as part of our community!

Rain Can’t Stop the Fun.....Fall Festival Is Moving Inside!"

Hey families! Due to the weather, our Fall Festival Fundraiser is moving indoors this year. While we won’t have all of our usual outdoor activities, there will still be plenty of fun, games, amazing raffle baskets and food for everyone to enjoy.

We can’t wait to see you there! Tag your friends and invite them to join us!

The countdown is on to our Fall Festival! October 18th from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Fairview is the place to be!
