๐ŸŒ Want to make a real impact in the Springfield community? MSU students now have the opportunity to mentor and support newcomer & immigrant youth through a new partnership between Missouri State University, the International Institute of Southwest Missouri (IISMO), and the Rotary Club of Springfield Southeast.

This initiative creates a powerful mentorship chain: Rotary professionals mentor MSU students, and MSU students mentor immigrant and refugee youth building leadership, connection, and community along the way.

Congratulations to Zane Wigton, one of FLIโ€™s JPN 202 students, for being selected as a finalist in the 40th Annual Japanese Language Speech Contest in Chicago! ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต๐ŸŽค

This prestigious competition, sponsored by the Consulate-General of Japan in Chicago and several leading Japanese-American organizations, selects only 10 finalists per category from across the region, making this an incredible achievement.

We connected with fellow international students across Missouri, shared experiences, and reflected on the challenges and opportunities of studying in the U.S.

We also met District Representative Betsy Fogle and learned more about the impact of international education on our communities ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’™
