The first day of school is TOMORROW, Monday, August 24 and we can’t wait to welcome our students back! 🥳

🚌🚨 AS SCHOOL STARTS: Help Keep Our Students Safe - New School Bus Safety Law

📢 With the first day of school TOMORROW, we want to remind drivers about an important change to Kentucky’s school bus safety law.

House Bill 7, which took effect on July 15, requires drivers on highways with four or more lanes to stop for a bus in the opposite direction with its stop arm extended and lights flashing unless that road is divided by an elevated barrier or unpaved median.

🛑 Remember: Stops are required in all lanes for four-lane highways that include a painted median, paved median or center turn lane.

🚍 Drivers in both directions still need to stop on two-lane roads when a school bus is stopped to pick up or drop off students.

🚸As our school buses return to the roads tomorrow, please slow down, stay alert and watch for our students. Let’s work together to make sure everyone gets to school and home safely!
