Golf is more than just a sport, it teaches patience, focus, confidence, discipline, honesty, and networking skills that can help young people for life. It’s one of the few sports kids can play from childhood into adulthood, both recreationally and professionally.

Golf also opens doors academically. Every year, thousands of college golf scholarships are awarded across NCAA Division 1, 2, 3, NAIA, and junior colleges for both boys and girls. The game can create opportunities for college, careers, and lifelong relationships.

Students and families in grades 3–12 are invited to attend the first-ever Aerospace Career Day at the New England Air Museum this Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

This exciting, family-friendly event is designed to inspire young people to explore future careers in aerospace by showcasing the many opportunities within the industry. Attendees will have the chance to meet representatives from local flight schools, aerospace companies, nonprofit organizations, military branches, and post-secondary programs while learning more about careers in aviation, engineering, technology, and beyond.

Families can also enjoy hands-on aviation skills demonstrations, climb inside aircraft cockpits, and participate in interactive experiences throughout the day. Food will be available for purchase onsite from Twin Beaks Food Trucks.

The event is presented in partnership with Fly Lugu.

Due to the forecast and the district’s early dismissal announcement for Tuesday, May 19th, there has been an adjustment to the Math MCAS testing schedule. Please see the updated testing dates below:

* Grade 3 Math MCAS – May 21st
* Grade 4 Math MCAS – May 20th
* Grade 5 Math MCAS – May 22nd (including all make-up testing)

It is extremely important that students arrive to school on time and are present on their testing days so they can do their very best.
