Thank you!! Illinois Association for the Education of Young Children for having us today! We taught three sessions on connecting ourselves and young learners with nature through curiosity, collection, nature journaling and reflection. What an amazing day. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share what we are passionate about and be inspired by others.

Offering thanks to the region of the earth that formed me. Gave life to my ecological identity, taught me about my place in the order of all things. I do not worship the earth, but I revere her, respect her resilience and learn daily from her patience. Cascadia is a region of the land defined by a watershed, comprised largely of what we refer to as the pacific northwest, but also extending beyond that tight region. It is an area delineated by the formations of the land, not by borders we have imposed on her. Reading this beautiful collection returns me to that place: the aroma of pine, a glint of sun catching on a previously unseen and outstretched web. Those sensory memories live within us, they are among our guiding principles. When we find them we are not only returning to the land, but to ourselves.
