Our 5th grade students recently spent time reflecting on God’s mission, vision, and purpose for our church and school. After reading these statements in their student handbooks, they were invited to prayerfully consider an even more personal question: What is God’s mission, vision, and purpose for me?
During a time of prayer and reflection, students listened for what God might be placing on their hearts. They then created vision boards representing what they heard, felt, and imagined during their prayer time. We are excited to see how these young people continue to grow in faith and discover the unique purposes God has for their lives.

Our second grade class recently participated in a hands-on recycling activity led by Sam Perin from the Clark County Solid Waste District. Students learned the complete paper recycling process by transforming used paper into new, reusable sheets. Every student participated in the paper making process. Thank you Mr. Sam for sharing your time and expertise with our students and helping them better understand the importance of recycling and environmental stewardship.

Risen Christ 3rd Graders worked hard and enthusiastically to create a wax museum of characters. They read, researched, dressed in character, and created a three panel board including artifacts displaying information. The students delivered well informed and entertaining presentations each time their special push button was activated by a museum guest.

As part of learning about the Holy Trinity, 5th and 6th grade students made beautiful stained glass shamrocks to help represent and share the meaning of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, three in one, like the leaves of a shamrock. Through this hands-on activity, they not only explored an important part of our faith, but also created something special to share with others ☘️

Risen Christ students in grades 4-7 had the exciting opportunity to visit the Ohio Supreme Court building. During their trip, they toured the stunningly beautiful and historic building, learned about Ohio’s rich history and judicial system, and participated in two engaging mock trials. It was a memorable hands-on experience that brought civics to life for our students.

Celebrated children’s author Dr. Miranda Kogon Montoya visited Risen Christ to present her most recent publication “Petunia Moves Again”. She also led two Reader’s Workshops and an Author’s Workshop. Through highly engaging and interactive presentations on author’s purpose, main idea, and character development, students discovered the heart of the story’s message: “Trying something new can lead to great things.” Our students are eagerly awaiting a second visit from Dr Montoya and the presentation of the next book in the Petunia series.
