One of the ways we've found to keep in step with evolving technology while fostering socialization, is to create pages for our home school kids. Creating a page for them and inviting family, friends and other people who are "vetted" (known to be safe and supportive), is a great way to safely introduce them to the realm of "cyber-social". Also, if we post photos and videos of their adventures in learning, their eyes will light up from all the "likes" and we'll have created a virtual history of their schooling!
Homeschool allows us to detail focus on catching them up where they fall behind and letting them run with their strengths!
Correct homeschooling is a little tougher than we might think but it is completely doable and completely rewarding!
It takes a lot of time and attention to homeschool properly but you'll see immediate returns on the investment.

Lotsa educational and entertaining "how does p**p work?" and "what are farts?" vids on Youtube for your kidlings!
You are the perfect teacher to student ratio.
While they are learning independently, parents should try to be co-discoverers not "teachers". When they ask questions, instead of saying "look it up" or "I don't know", we can say "let's find out" and share in their research and discovery. This not only encourages and rewards them for being curious, it shows them that curiosity and discovery is a human trait shared by everyone.
The most difficult aspect of homeschooling isn't curriculum or even keeping the kids interested and moving forward. The most difficult aspect of homeschooling is socialization. Interacting with children their own age is important and for us parents, finding them playmates and friends can be a monumental undertaking.
